Steal valuable objects and get away with them Of Guards And Thieves is a top-down multiplayer shooter with very little to offer from a visual point of view, but with more than enough fun and entertainment to make up for it. However , there are some ingenious mechanics that make the gameplay a delight, but even those bet on whether you can accept the simplicity of it all. As such, you can definitely have a lot of fun with the game and even get hooked on it. The main idea behind it is that two teams have to compete against each other on a map: the guards and the thieves. While the guards must obviously patrol the maps and keep an eye on certain items, the thieves must get away with the said items and steal them as silently as possible. Obviously, a classic shootout can also do the trick, although sneaking around might prove to be more fun. Multiple classes to choose from To make matters even more exciting, there are multiple classes to choose from, each one of which comes with a different set of abilities that can come in handy during the mission. Hence, whether you want to be light on your feet and use speed to your advantage, or play as a medic and help your teammates whenever they have been in trouble, the choice is all yours to make. From a technical point of view, the game does not impress through anything, although it does not look bad either. In fact, the illumination is very nice and effective, even if it does display some glitches every now and again. The animations and the special effects make a good team as well, but don’t expect anything out of the ordinary, which is great news for those with weaker computers. Plenty of game modes to spice things up In the end, there are multiple game modes to choose from as well, in case you get bored of stealing the same things over and over again. Hence, Of Guards And Thieves holds quite a lot of content, as well as the potential to turn into quite the popular game, especially since modding is easy and encouraged.
