Witness the events that lead to the ones in Yandere Simulator and watch the characters evolve into what they are today Yandere Simulator is one of the most successful indie game of the last few years, especially when you consider the fact that it’s far from complete yet. However, the right combination of gameplay and background story is always difficult to resist, especially when the players have the option to engage in acts of violence and promiscuity in a pretty detailed environment. A story that explains the events before Yandere Simulator Yandere Simulator: The Prequel – The Visual Novel is an interactive visual novel in which you get to witness the events that lead up to the situation everyone is familiar with in the official game. Granted, it’s not a very polished game, which is obvious from the first few minutes of gameplay, but then again it doesn’t really need to impress in many regards if it manages to tell a neat story. Whether this is the case or not with the visual novel in question is a matter of personal preference, but don’t expect to be blown away by the quality of the writing or the plot itself. On the other hand, you get to meet some of the characters before they got to where they are in the official game, which might make you understand the adventure a lot better. Poor artwork quality and a lot of meaningless activities Every now and again the game lets you choose how to spend your day, which although might sound like a great way to diversify the experience and let you enjoy yourself, the truth is that very few of the choices you make have a direct effect on the story. Thus, it often feels like you click just to keep the plot going on rails, and that’s not good news if you want to replay the game and see other scenes. As for the graphics, it’s worth noting that the artwork is a tad too blurry and annoying, not to mention the fact that some of the backgrounds seem to be borrowed from somewhere else. Granted, the game is free of charge and the development team is small, but it would be nice to see some original content in this regard as well. An interesting story for the fans of the original Even if it has its fair share of flaws, Yandere Simulator: The Prequel – The Visual Novel can still keep you busy for a while, especially if you are a fan of the original Yandere Simulator. In addition, the game allows you to reimagine the story and see things differently for a change.
