Help a fairy accomplish her dream to go to the Moon in this colorful visual novel Even if we still have a long way to go, humans have were able to achieve quite a lot in a relatively short time span. It only took a few decades from the invention of the aircraft to the moon landing, and our technology is only improving as time passes. It’s not difficult to imagine a future where people colonize other planets now, even if that’s a quite far away dream at the moment. Help a Faerie reach the Moon Moonlight Crossing is a visual novel that puts you in the role of a fairy as she tries to accomplish her dream and reach the Moon. The game is a kinetic novel, which means that you have no control over the course of the story, but the writing is usually strong enough to keep you engaged in spite of that. Furthermore, you can tell that the artists have put quite some work into the artwork. The main character’s name is Pleione, and she is quite a dreamy fairy that lives in the forest with her loving sisters. However, she nurtures a passion for the Moon, especially after she manages to spark a conversation with a Moon fairy. Her big change appears when a human spaceship crashes nearby, and she decides to fix it in order to make the long-awaited journey. Watch the story unfold in front of your eyes As mentioned before, there’s no way to control the story, because there are no choices to be made along the way. Hence, you can only reach one ending, but that should be enough if you only want to relax for a while and not worry about the gameplay aspect. Furthermore, the characters are very intriguing, and Pleione has some interesting solutions to the riddles waiting ahead. Lastly, the graphics are not bad either, although the number of CG backgrounds is rather limited, unfortunately. They can get a tad repetitive after a while, especially since the story as a total does not take you to too many different places. On the other hand, the soundtrack is very dreamy, and the soothing music should help a lot with the overall atmosphere. A peaceful journey and a memorable experience In spite of its short run time, Moonlight Crossing can really stick with you after it’s done, mainly because the main character is so endearing. Thus, it’s definitely worth half an hour of your time, especially if you are a visual novel fan.
