A neat puzzle game where switching between realms and using your brain intensively is the key towards progress If you’ve never heard of Schrodinger’s cat from school, you’ll most likely know it from memes of the Internet in general. Cavern of Conundrums is a puzzle solver game that approaches the issue in an unique twist, where the cat itself has to switch through two realms of existence in order to pass the various puzzles stored ahead. It is both dead…. The game doesn’t have any sort of plot, and you just find yourself in the role of a bipedal cat that is trying to get out of a puzzle-infested series of caves. For some reason, the cat can switch between two different planes of existence, each of them being represented through two different art styles, one that is hand-drawn, and one that looks like an 8-bit retro game. Regardless of the realm you are currently in, the environment is going to be rendered in high-quality 3D, while the cat and objects you can interact with will always be flat 2D…. and alive at the same time As mentioned above, the game is essentially a puzzle solver and the puzzle difficulty ramp up pretty quickly, as there will be times when you’ll be scratching your head wondering how exactly you’ll get past this next level. The puzzle types vary, from using objects placed on triggers for summoning bridges, to going over walls, using doppelganger mirrors and controlling two versions of yourself at the same time. One thing you should know is that the only way you can lose in the game is by either falling into traps or into the endless holes in the floor. An interesting take on the puzzle solver genre Cavern of Conundrums is probably one of the most unique puzzle solving games out there, and the duality between the two different art style will attract those that are fans of abstract artworks.
